Maybe you recognized that you have to create a user account to write a comment. I changed it, because i am so sick of the 20 spam messages (with CAPTCHA) everyday. In future there may be a forum or a custom input validation for guests.

Version 1.4 released

It’s done! The new version 1.4 is released. Here is a short list of the new features:

  • Project-Manager support
  • ACL permissions, managed by pre-defined roles
  • Usability improvements of long lists
  • Settings/Setup page
  • Change password support (only for “passwd” User-Edit-Provider)
  • Added a tiny front-page (with 1.5 it will show latest Subversion logs)

The Basic installation documentation is also up-to-date and can be used for installation.

There is still a known bug in 1.4: The tiny repository browser get problems with multi-byte characters. (will be fixed with a patch).

Please report your experiences, especially with the new “role-feature”. I’m open for suggestions. On request i will also write a small doc which explains the creation of custom roles.

Update:
I just found a bug and will fix it today. Spaces in paths of repositories parent or to the executable files will cause problems.

Done: Just fixed it and updated the ZIP file on Sourceforge.

iF.SVNAdmin 1.4 Screenshots (not released)

Here are two screenshots of the latest- not released – version of iF.SVNAdmin. They show the new look and the new “Role-Assignment” feature.

Update:
I currently don’t know whether the 1.4 release will contain the “Project-Admin” feature for different Access-Path’s. The ACL and setup/settings feature was a lot of work and basicly I wanted to release the next version this weekend.

Server transfer completed

The last couple of days we transfered all data to our new root server. Named “iF.Malediction”.

The development on our software can go on. The release of the new iF.SVNAdmin will be in about one week.

iF.SVNAdmin 1.4 progress

The new version is nearly finished. The basic implementation of the new ACL structure is completely implemented. The last step is an installation wizard, because it is too hard to setup the application without it.

If you currently use the authentication module with the login-group “_ISVNADMIN” you should keep in mind, that this group is no longer required in the new release. The iF.SVNAdmin 1.4 handles the permission with the new ACL (Roles) feature completely.

We hope that we can release the version 1.4 by the end of the week.

By the way… we still need some translators :P

iF.SVNAdmin release plans 1.4

Here are some features and improvements we plan for the next release:

Improve the permissions-page:
The user rights should be assignable on the AccessPath and Repository page.

Web-interface permissions:

  • Introducing Access-Path administrators who can assign user-rights to repositories.
  • Basic ACL’s to assign user privileges for the web-interface.

We also think about whether we should use a database (additional to the file-system resources) to make it easier to handle the web-interface permissions.

Update:

The ACL itself is implemented. Now we just have to fit the GUI to the new ACL concept… that’s probably the most complex part. :P

iF.SVNAdmin 1.3 Released

The new version of the subversion administration tool comes with a multi-language user interface and a few design changes (actually not worth mentioning… xD)

insaneSums 1.0 released

After several weeks of testing we are now releasing version 1.0 of insaneSums, our hash calculation tool. It proved to be quite stable, therefore only cosmetic changes occurred since the last release candidate (RC2).

For now, development on this application has been halted. However, should we decide to continue working towards version 1.1, we have planned the following features:

  • support more hash algorithms (e.g. RIPEMD)
  • offer hashing of text input (e.g. for passwords)
