Since some of us are using the Portable Apps platform, we also experimented a little with their distribution system and packaged insaneSums into the Portable Apps Installer. It is far from perfect, but it works, as long as you launch the program from within the Portable Apps platform.
What is Portable Apps?
In case you do not know what Portable Apps is, we suggest you head over to their homepage and try it out. However, should you just want to know what it is, here is a short description:
You can put Portable Apps on your USB thumb drive and from there launch a number of applications (which you previously installed into the platform). You can use these programs on every Windows PC. This allows you to carry not just your raw data with you, but also individualized applications, such as Firefox, Thunderbird and even OpenOffice. For a full list of supported programs you will have to check their site.
Now you may also use insaneSums in this environment. Note however, that this has not been tested in any way extensively.
